She Missed It

A woman married as a virgin. She had lived a life of chastity and I admired her. But her story doesn't end here.

This woman was proud of her virginity because many of her mates had lost theirs. And she thought herself better than most people. She felt like the chosen few among the many that were called.

She became puffed up. She became proud. She became rude. ...

Men liked her because she was beautiful. They admired her because she appeared godly. They even enjoyed her rudeness if they thought they had a chance with her.

Now I'm guessing the part in this paragraph. I didn't know her well then to be sure that it happened, but I guess it did because things follow a pattern, almost always. So if I'm correct, a man came into her life, the man who understood her, but 'he was lowly and riding on an ass', Zechariah 9:9, and she didn't WANT to recognize him. She was too special and better men deserved her.

And she did marry. The man enjoyed the rudeness and other things that goes with pride the first year, tried hard the second year, endured it the third year. With time he gave up. And looked for happiness and fulfillment outside his marital home.

Our lives are like a bible, the letters kill, it is the spirit that gives life. The letter is the things we do, the spirit is the love we put into it. Paul said things done without love are worthless. I know they can be dangerous. Without love, virtues easily become curses instead of blessings.

True righteousness is obtained from God not the result of our own efforts so that on one will boast, Ephesians 2:8-9. Love helps us recognise this. A true heart for God enables us to love those we're better than and try to help them. We don't look down on them, not even in our minds, for we know that we are what we are by grace only. That is Christianity. That is spirituality!

When the woman sees her husband bring women into their home, she weeps, she cries, she blames God, you see most of the time they NEVER know where they missed it.

They missed it when they prefer self righteousness over God's kind of righteousness. They missed it when they told God they knew what they deserved more than Him. They missed it when they refused to answer the call to love. And thus destinies are lost day by day.

Let us humble ourselves. Let us REALLY allow the love of God to shine through our lives. It is the light of the world, and the pillar of our lives. In all we do and say today, let the love be felt. Anything said without love is not worth saying, even if we're refering to our most bitter enemy. Love is the answer, love is the way! Let it shine in your manner of life today!

NOTE: It is impossible to love God without being his child. If you'll love to accept Jesus into your life, drop a comment or send me a message.
